At the age of 17, Cleopatra became Queen of Egypt

At the age of 17, Cleopatra became Queen of Egypt and ruled until she was 39 years old. She was a polyglot, as she spoke nine languages, including Ancient Egyptian and the languages of the Parthians, Hebrews, Medes, Troglodytes, Syrians, Ethiopians, Kushite (Nubian) and Arabs. This meant that she was able to read any book in the world.  She was also very knowledgeable in various subjects such as geography, history, astronomy, international diplomacy, mathematics, alchemy, medicine, zoology, economics, and more. Despite her many books being destroyed in a fire, some of her herbal remedies and beauty tips have survived.  Additionally, her knowledge of languages allowed her to have access to numerous papyri that are now lost. Her influence on the sciences and medicine was highly esteemed in the early centuries of Christianity, making her an unparalleled figure in human history.... ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ’ฏ #history  Follow my page please ๐Ÿ™

JIENG (DINKA) AND ITS SECTIONS WITH SUBSECTIONS

1.

1.   Rek Amou Marol
2. Padang Ayuel Jiel
3. Twic
4. Agaar Speaking groups
5. Bor

The sections of Jieng Rek

Rek is the largest Dinka section composed of 57 Subsections or cheifdoms found in 3 States of War Keu aka Bahr El Gahzal (Wau, Aweil, Warrap)

1. Aguok Mou Akeen
2. Apuk Giir Thiik
3. Awan Chan and Awan Mou
3. Malual Gier-Nyang
4. Wuot Tonj (19 chiefdoms of Tonj)
5. Marial Baai aka Marial Wau
6. Kuach Ayok

The sections of Jieng Padang

1. Ngok Lual Yak-Baliet County
2. Ngok Deng Kuol-Abyei Administrative Area
3. Luacjang aka Luac Aguer Adeel ( in Tonj)
4. Luackoth
5. Nyarweng of Duk Payuel
6. Dongjol-Akoka County
7. Nyiel-Malut County
8. Ageer
9. Paweny Atar
10. Alor Kur Kuot-Abiemnhom County
11. Panaruu of Panriang County
12. Abaliang-Renk County
13. Marbeek (Rut, Thoi, Alual)

The sections of AGaar Speaking Group were wrongly identified by their close brothers of Rek of Warrap and Malual of Aweil...In reality, the below 3 mentioned sections of Ciec, Atuot and Aliab were wrongly misconceived and wrongly added into Agar...So, it should be refixs.

1. Ciec Manyiel
2. Atuot
3. Aliab
4. Agaar Madong
5. Gok Arol Kachuol

NB: {The above group DO NOT identify as Agaar with the exception of Agaar subsection, the word Agaar here is used for grouping only. }

• Ciec Manyiel, originally refers as Jieng...This section is under Jieng or independently known as Jieng for they are the true origin of Jieng (Dinka). So, Ciec/Jieng is not Agar. It holds its own subsections of Kuacdit, Kuacthii, Ajiek, Pajiek, Gok and Ajhak.

• Atuot:--This is an independent tribe that holds its own subsections of Luach, Jilek, Akot, Kuek, Rorkeich. So, it is a tribe as claimed by some individuals of that particular.

NB:-Atuot is not a tribe due to some prime reasons. However, the reason that Atuot is not a tribe is because Apak, Akot, Kuek Rorkec are not originally Reel speakers. It is their geographical location that has earlier laid them under Atuot. In a real sense, Atuot is not a tribe, but it's the section of Dinka tribe namely, 'Dinka Atuot'

• Aliab too is not under agar.

NB:--In Lakes State, we have Dinka Ciec, Dinka Agar, Dinka Aliab, Dinka Gok, Dinka Atuot and Dinka Apaak.

Jieng Bor sections
1. Bor (Athooc and Gok)
2. Hol of Duk Padiet
3. Twic Ajang Duot

NB: Twic Ajang Duot and Nyarweng are both found in Jonglei and were part of Bor district however now ethnically they solely identify as Twic and Hol with Athooc and Gok identitying as Bor. Nyarweng is ethnically Padang though it’s in the same district as Hol who shares with them Duk county which was part of Bor district.

Twic Section

Twic Mayardit is a section of its own though it’s sometimes added together with Twic Ajang Duot.

Twic has 6 subsections or 6 chiefdoms that will be an article of its own.

Note: These groupings and sections of Jieng are based on the language or accent.

If there’s any mistake we apologize and it was not intentional, corrections are allowed, comment with your correction and we will try to edit and update it.

Thanks,
Gum Manyang Luk.

AFRICAN AMERICAN FIRSTS - MOSES FLEETWOOD WALKER (1857-1924)

Moses Fleetwood Walker, often called Fleet, was the first African American to play major league baseball in the nineteenth century. Born October 7, 1857, in Mount Pleasant, Ohio, Walker was the fifth of six children born to parents, Dr. Moses W. Walker, a physician, and Caroline Walker, a midwife. Oberlin College admitted Walker for the fall 1878 semester. In 1881, he played in all five games of the new varsity baseball team at Oberlin. Before the end of the year, however, Walker left Oberlin to play baseball for the University of Michigan. In July 1882, Walker married Bella Taylor and the couple had three children. Fleetwood Walker was able to earn money as a catcher. He played individual games for the White Sewing Machine Company of Cleveland (August 1881), the New Castle (Pennsylvania) Neshannocks (1882), and with the Toledo Blue Stockings of the Northwestern League (1883). Half of all U.S. states, specifically 25, have names that originate from Native American languages

Half of all U.S. states, specifically 25, have names that originate from Native American languages or have Native American origins. These names reflect the rich history and cultural heritage of the Indigenous peoples who inhabited these lands before European colonization. The states with Native American names include: 1. Alabama - Derived from the Alabama tribe, a Muskogean-speaking people. 2. Alaska - Derived from the Aleut word "alaxsxaq" or "agunalaksh," meaning "the mainland" or "great land." 3. Arizona - Derived from the O'odham word "Alฤญ แนฃonak," meaning "small spring" or "place of the small spring." 4. Arkansas - Derived from the French interpretation of the name given to the Quapaw people, a tribe living along the Arkansas River. 5. Connecticut - Derived from the Mohegan-Pequot word "quinatucquet," meaning "long tidal river" or "beside the long, tidal river." 6. De

R.L. BURNSIDE (1926-2005) was a charismatic singer and guitarist

R.L. BURNSIDE (1926-2005) was a charismatic singer and guitarist, in the deepest Mississippi Hill Country tradition.  He learned and was greatly influenced by Fred McDowell, and also played in the style of John Lee Hooker. A lot happened in his 78 years. He was first recorded in 1967 by George Mitchell, and went on to make several records for various European labels.  Later in his life, in the 1990s, he was crossover hit with his recordings on the Fat Possum label, with his own band and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. A farmer, fisherman, and family man, he had many children, several of which played music. I met him in the early 1990s, he was very kind, and funny, known for his toasts and jokes as well as his hypnotic, trance-inducing style.
